New York Yacht Club American Magic Names Garmin its Official Marine Electronics Supplier

America’s Cup team depends on cutting-edge technology to prepare for 2024 races.

New York Yacht Club American Magic named Garmin its official marine electronics supplier for the 37th America’s Cup challenge, slated for September/October 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.

“Our team is made up of over 100 people across Newport, RI, Pensacola, FL, and Barcelona, all of whom constantly monitor and maximize performance in a marine sport,” says Terry Hutchinson, skipper and president of sailing operations for NYYC American Magic. “To achieve the level of sustained high performance required to compete, it is essential that we utilize the best marine electronics in the industry as we focus on our high-performance sailing program and target the 37th America’s Cup.”

NYYC American Magic plans to spend the rest of the winter in Pensacola, Florida, perfecting its AC75. Five challengers, including Magic, will pitch battle to determine who ultimately faces the Defender — Emirates Team New Zealand.
